Over 1 million Hydro-Québec customers lost power during the April 2023 ice storm. Now, some Quebec households who lost food as a result can claim up to $300 in compensation from the government.

Environment Canada's Montreal weather forecast for the week of April 10 shows temperatures peaking at 20 C or above on three days in a row: Thursday, April 13, Friday, April 14, and Saturday, April 15 — just in time for the scheduled launch of the 2023 BIXI season.

Hydro-Québec has been releasing updates diligently across its social media and a recent message states that crew members are working hard to get power back to customers as quickly as possible.

Just when you thought winter was over, the Quebec weather said "psych!" Although things are certainly looking up for spring, we've got another snowstorm on our hands across the province. Environment Canada has issued a winter snowstorm warning for over 20 regions across Quebec, and it's not looking so hot.

"Hazardous winter conditions are expected," Environment Canada said, with a snowfall of 20 to 35 centimetres expected by Sunday morning. The forecast predicts that areas such as Rimouski, Saguenay and Quebec City will be hit with snow and intense winds.
