If you've been looking for a good laugh, Montreal's hottest comedy show-turn-after-party is back this weekend for a night filled with some of the best local acts along with some very special guest surprises.

Per usual, the event will kick off with a free shot from Kickback co-creators Eva Alexopoulos and DJ Micah. The duo is kicking off back-to-school in a way that you will definitely remember with the return of Kickback's BYOB format at its new and permanent location in Griffintown.

This summer, you can step away from the mundane, the traditional, the been-there-done-that world of art and music shows, and dive headfirst into the matrix of Montreal's Société des Arts Technologiques (SAT) dome.

The SATosphere — an 18-metre-wide architectural marvel, armed with eight video projectors and 157 loudspeakers — immerses audiences into the very heart of performances.

Montreal is gearing up for a record-breaking 36-hour party from May 19 to 21, bypassing the last NON STOP shindig by an astounding seven hours. The event promises continuous celebration and bar service, brimming with high-energy music, a vibrant atmosphere and, for the first time, a free outdoor show.

The Grand Quay in the Old Port will transform into a free outdoor stage on May 20, where party enthusiasts can dance the day away against the stunning backdrop of the St. Lawrence River and the city skyline.

Montreal's next all-night party is raising the bar (literally) with 36 consecutive hours of drinking and dancing — a full seven hours longer than the last NON STOP event.

The overnight festivities from May 19 to 21 will feature a slew of international DJs and a free outdoor stage at the Grand Quay in the Old Port with spectacular panoramic views of the St. Lawrence River and the city.

Montreal is keeping the party spirit — and a trial run of all-night nightlife — alive this winter with an extended dance event slated for late January.

Club Soda will host 'Nuit ÆX' without the constraints of a 3 a.m. closing time or limited liquor license. In fact, the party has gotten special city approval to let the international headliners keep playing music, and for the bartenders to keep slinging drinks, until 8 a.m.

Montreal is a city of dense but distinct neighbourhoods, each with its own vibe and culture, history and personality. This eclectic urban patchwork has given rise to neighbourhood stereotypes, some misguided but most good-humoured, painfully effective jabs at some of our zaniest collective traits.

A recent Reddit post (shared here with permission) by Los Angeles resident Mark Rad (u/Persianx6) sought to expose Montrealers' perceptions of their neighbours, asking users to "imagine each neighbourhood in Montreal is a guest at a massive house party" and describe their behaviour.

For four days, a skate park beneath a Mile End overpass will be transformed into a "digital block party" with epic video projections on surrounding buildings. MAPP_MTL, Montreal's festival of projection mapping, is back from September 21 to 25* for its seventh edition under the theme "multiple dimensions."

Since 2016, the festival has sought to offer a space for video mapping artists — who project videos onto objects or surfaces like buildings to create displays — to promote their work in Montreal.

If you've ever been at a party that felt like it was ending too soon, then NON STOP 24/24 might be for you. From May 21 to 23, Montreal's SAT (Société des arts technologiques) will host a 29-hour dance party featuring more than 30 artists. While the party keeps bumping, the drinks will also keep flowing. The party has an unusual exemption from the city to operate its liquor license for 24 hours straight.

It's the first time in the country that an event space has been granted permission to serve alcohol for that long. Organizers say they're working on a plan to make sure residents living near the SAT won't be negatively impacted by partygoers consuming drinks.

It's official, folks: the legendary Général Sherman club on the North Shore will be closing its doors in April. After two years of changing restrictions for bars and restaurants, the legendary Blainville bar will be closing for good.

The good news is that they're going out with a bang. An event called "The Last Dance" will be hosted on the evening of April 2 for everyone who wants one more party at the Sherm. Owners Stephanie El-Bahar and Simon Corbo confirmed that they wanted to give the North Shore one more chance to enjoy the Général Sherman the way they did before the pandemic.
