It seems as if winter is in full force across Quebec as we await the biggest snowstorm of the season. The snowstorm is expected to impose several meteorological hazards, including snowfall and a possible freezing rain weather warning from Environment Canada.

"A major storm is taking aim at Quebec through mid-week, with a swath of heavy snow, rain, strong winds and ice all on the table. This will be the biggest storm of the year for the province so far," The Weather Networks forecast centre indicated.

Buckle up, folks because a snowstorm is about to hit southern Quebec...again. Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for several regions across the province — some of which are expected to receive up to 25 centimetres of snow.

The culprit? A low-pressure system originating from Texas that is set to hit Quebec this Saturday, March 4. The federal weather department issued the weather warning for the Eastern Townships, Gatineau, Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, Châteauguay, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Hyacinthe, Vaudreuil, Soulanges and Huntingdon.

Montrealers might still be recovering from the most recent snowfall, but don't put away your shovels just yet as we're expected to receive up to 15 centimetres of snow this weekend. The Montreal weather forecast is calling for yet another whiteout this weekend and road conditions will suck big time.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for the Island of Montreal indicating that "difficult winter conditions" will take over Montreal starting Saturday. The statement was issued at 4:24 a.m. on March 3, 2023, and applies to Montreal, the Laval area, Longueuil (Varennes area) and Châteauguay (La Prairie area).

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for Montreal as an intense cold front sweeps across Quebec starting Thursday afternoon to Friday morning. The warning was issued at 5:30 a.m. on February 2, 2023, and is currently in effect for Montreal, Châteauguay, Longueuil and the Laval area.

EnvioCan warns of temperatures dropping dramatically over the span of a few hours along with a combination of moderately strong winds, which will only generate even more extreme wind chill values as of Friday morning.

Winter is officially in full force as Quebec braces for a whirlwind of winter weather conditions. Montreal is presently under a snowfall warning issued by Environment Canada (EC). The federal weather department states that snowfall amounts could total anywhere from 15 to 25 centimetres on the Island of Montreal. However, the wintry chaos doesn't end there.

In addition to Montreal receiving its first snowfall of the season, Quebec as a whole got nearly 50 centimetres of snow last weekend — proving that winter is returning with one heck of a vengeance. Well, it appears as if the snowy conditions aren't going anywhere as Environment Canada issued a few weather alerts for various parts of the province, including a snowfall, and snow squall warning.

EnviroCan issued a snowfall warning for Anticosti, Forillon National Park, Gaspé, Percé, Grande-Vallée and Sainte-Anne-des-Monts regions of Quebec where "close to 15 centimetres of snow is expected on Sunday."
