Quebec will soon roll out the white carpet along with a lineup of activities that go beyond downhill skiing and snowball fights. The province's agency for outdoor adventures, Sépaq, is introducing a range of unique experiences to transform your winter.

There's an experience at the Aquarium du Québec that lets you explore the ocean world through smell. It's a unique way to connect with the marine environment without getting wet. Then there's fatbiking – regular biking amped up for winter. Bikes with oversized tires are perfect for cruising snowy trails, offering an exhilarating way to enjoy the park's wintry landscapes. For something a bit more zen, there's yoga on snowshoes. You can stretch and pose in the forest, blending mindfulness with the crunch of snow underfoot.

The mountaintop benches are reclined to the perfect sky-watching angle, and Sépaq park rangers will be offering guided activities including an astronomy night called "Visite du cosmos."

The Société des établissements de plein air du Québec (Sépaq) has completed the reconstruction of Oka National Park's boardwalk trail, offering 360-degree views of the foliage surrounding the park's central Grande Baie.

The 300-metre trail sits on stilts anchored at the bottom of the swampy cove, so visitors can walk right over the water. From the top of an observation tower at the water's edge, Sépaq says the pathway appears to take the shape of a duck head, a symbol of the park.

Sépaq has enhanced the experience at several of its parks and reserves ahead of summer 2022. In addition to a new cliffside lookout in the Parc national des Monts-Valin, the society has also installed new rest areas with stunning views in the Gaspésie region's Réserve faunique de Matane.

The two new platforms are near the Auberge de montage des Chic‑Chocs, an isolated four-star mountain lodge that sits atop a mountain crest in what Sépaq calls the heart of the reserve.
