Celebrities often guard their privacy fiercely, but Céline Dion is turning the spotlight towards some of her most personal struggles. The legendary singer, known for her powerful voice, is set to reveal a different kind of strength in her upcoming documentary, I Am: Celine Dion.

"[The] documentary directed by Oscar-nominated Irene Taylor will be released globally on Prime Video," Dion shared on Instagram. Amazon MGM Studios also announced the acquisition of worldwide rights to the feature-length film on January 30.

I Am: Celine Dion will offer a raw, unfiltered look into the singer's battle with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder. It promises an intimate exploration of Dion's career and her personal life and health challenges. Viewers will also get a glimpse into the private world of the global megastar, from her couture touring wardrobe to behind-the-scenes moments in the recording studio.

"This last couple of years has been such a challenge for me, the journey from discovering my condition to learning how to live with and manage it, but not to let it define me, " Dion said.

The singer's life has been a rollercoaster of emotions and trials in recent years. Following the cancellation of her Las Vegas residency in 2021 and disclosure of her struggle with SPS in 2022, Dion has shown remarkable determination. Her foray into acting with a role in the romantic comedy Love Again and the release of new songs in 2023 have demonstrated unwavering commitment to her craft.

"As the road to resuming my performing career continues, I have realized how much I have missed it, of being able to see my fans. During this absence, I decided I wanted to document this part of my life, to try to raise awareness of this little-known condition, to help others who share this diagnosis," Dion said.

Her new documentary will not only give a voice to those battling similar challenges but is likely to redefine what strength and vulnerability look like in the public eye. So far, a release date has not been announced.
