Chicken and waffles may not seem like the perfect combination — until you try it for yourself, that is. And a new restaurant near Montreal has absolutely perfected this combo.

Calì in Laval is the newest player in the fried chicken game adding a little bit of comfort to the cold season, especially with their chicken and waffle dish.

The eatery is inspired by the chicken from California and Nashville, which means it's bringing a little bit of spice to Laval.

The chicken and waffles are not the only "must-try" on the menu. They also cook up delicious poutines, sandwiches tacos and even breakfast sandwiches that are served all day long.

Levon Keyork, the owner of the establishment, is also the mastermind behind the popular Laval restaurant Mantì.

A representative of the restaurant told MTL Blog that the name of the establishment was "inspired by the word Calìente, because what's better than some spicy fried chicken?"

Calì will be serving food out of Mantì for the time being and a physical location will open in June 2021. "Levon will use this method to successfully launch his concept during this pandemic time," said Vanessa Triassi, a member of the marketing team.
