If you've ever wandered the Montreal Eaton Centre wondering what became of the wax museum on the fifth floor, you're going to want to stop by again — because the space just got a wild, technicolour makeover.

La Fabuleuse Expo Fab, a brand-new permanent immersive art exhibition, officially opened to the public on June 18, transforming the former Grévin Museum into a playground of surreal installations, larger-than-life sculptures, and immersive rooms that feel tailor-made for your camera roll.

Designed by BOMBANCE — the Montreal-based creative team behind Osheaga's visuals and New City Gas' decor — the permanent attraction is made up of over 20 wildly imaginative spaces. You'll find shimmering unicorns, oversized gummy bears, underwater dreamscapes, neon jungle scenes and more. It's part art gallery, part fever dream.

Some installations within the three-floor expo feature interactive elements like confetti cannons, objects to handle, and even a ball pit visitors can hop into.

“We wanted to create a space where creativity, sensitivity, and wonder could be freely expressed. Guests drift from one world to another — with no set route, but with the certainty of being surprised," says Audray, founder and CEO, at BOMBANCE.

"FAB invites people to escape their routine and explore an extravagant universe where limits no longer exist."

Beyond the eye-catching visuals, FAB also leans into its local roots. Many of the installations are handmade in Quebec, and much of the exhibit was built using recycled materials.

And while it's undeniably Instagram-friendly, the space aims to be more than just a backdrop. Its creators describe it as a "melting pot" designed to spark creativity, offer a playful escape from reality, and invite visitors to reconnect with their sense of wonder, whether alone or with friends.
