A spectacular historic landmark located in the Montreal Eaton Centre is set to reopen to the public in 2023. The Art Deco masterpiece — a restaurant on the mall's ninth floor that closed in 1999 and later became a heritage site — will be restored to its former glory by the end of the year.

The revamp will transform the architectural gem into a dining area and event space. Ivanhoé Cambridge, the firm behind The Ring, is spearheading the project in collaboration with conservation experts from local firm EVOQ Architecture.

Eaton Centre staple Time Out Market is welcoming a new Italian flavour profile: sandwich shop Bossa is joining the roster of 14 eateries in late February. Bossa is known for its two popular locations in Verdun and Rosemont, where the family-run restaurant serves loaded Philly-style hoagies flavoured with southern Italian flair.

"Since birth, food has been an integral part of my life," said Bossa's owner and chef Daniel Lo Manto. "I grew up making sauces from scratch with my Nonno and mother, starting with a homemade secret tomato sauce which you can now find in our sandwiches."

Montreal's Time Out Market is throwing a downton Dia de Muertos party for two days with free activities. From October 28 to 29 you can sip on a themed cocktail while painting a complimentary pumpkin or catch a mariachi band while you have a meal.

The Eaton Centre food court has 13 counters to pick from, including a pop-up kitchen, four bars and a mocktail stand. You'll be serenaded by traditional Mexican music performed live on Friday evening. The following night you can catch DJ Don Barbarino behind the decks.

A gathering took place in Montreal's Eaton Centre on Sunday in solidarity with a mom who was recently kicked out of the downtown shopping centre for breastfeeding. One hundred and forty people marked themselves as attending the event on Facebook and 475 more marked themselves as "interested."

Earlier this week, Narcity Québec reported on the story that has been widely circulating on social media channels. According to a post by Isabelle Côté, a lawyer, psychiatric resident and mother of a 4-month-old baby, she was stopped by a security guard and the guard's supervisor who allegedly forbade her from breastfeeding in public and invited her to go to a nursing room.
