Montreal is a city that's truly got it all. From renowned restaurants, great bars, and non-stop festivals to a booming arts and culture scene and even better people, and the best part? It won't cost you much to visit.

Montreal was recently ranked as one of the cheapest cities to travel in 2024 — making it clear the 514 should definitely be on your travel bucket list.

Travel + Leisure shared the top 20 Cheapest Places To Travel Around The World, a ranking compiled by data from Kayak, the online travel search engine. Kayak analyzed flight searches from July 2023 through December 2023 to determine the most wallet-friendly locations for travel during 2024.

"The top 250 most-clicked destinations with the lowest average combined flight and hotel price were considered, excluding outliers based on certain criteria such as travel restrictions and security concerns. Prices and percentages are on average and subject to change," Travel + Leisure said.

Denver, Colorado ranked number one on the list with Chicago, Atlanta, Minneapolis and Portland all making up the remainder of the top five of the cheapest cities to travel to. In fact, the entire top 10 is made up of U.S. cities.

So, how did Montreal perform?

Montreal ranked 13th overall. Travel + Leisure highlighted Montreal's many sights to see including the open-air Jean-Talon Market in Little Italy, the free Barbie Expo, and of course, the stunning Parc du Mont-Royal as a "year-round attraction with row boats on the lake during the summer and stunning city views from the top of the hill," the publication wrote.

Montreal wasn't the only Canadian city to make the cut. Toronto also ranked among the cheapest cities to travel in 2024, ranking one spot above Montreal in 12th.
