Here’s What You Need To Know Before Going To Get Your Nails Done In Montreal Now

During the past few months, there have been so many things that we missed being able to do, from getting a haircut to sitting in restaurants. And of course, those well-needed manicures that so many of us have been craving. Once I heard the news about nail salons in Montreal reopening as of June 15, I booked myself an appointment right away.

After months of not getting my nails done, I was thrilled to finally be able to again. But, it's safe to say that it's now a much different experience then what we're used to.

From the moment I made my appointment at The Ten Spot in Griffintown, I was informed that there were new rules and regulations to be followed.

As indicated in my confirmation email: masks were now mandatory to enter and I was asked not to come more than two minutes early. They also informed me that although cash was accepted, paying by card is preferred as it reduces the potential for transmission of the virus.

When I walked in, with my mask, the first thing I was asked to do was to sanitize my hands.

I instantly noticed that there was plexiglass, not only at the cash, but also at every station.

While getting my nails done, I was informed that they would be able to serve half the number of clients that they were used to.

The CNESST website list a slew of health regulations that need to be followed in esthetician locations.

This includes the fact that all counters, tables, door nobs, and telephones must be cleaned after each use.

And the need to practice social distancing as much as possible.

I must admit, I was a bit unsure about wearing a mask and having plexiglass between the manicurist and me, but after a few minutes, I barely noticed that there was a separation between us.

After looking at my perfectly manicured hands, I was reminded of why I enjoy getting my nails done so much.

So, it's nice to know I can still pamper myself while remaining safe — and so can you!
