After two heatwaves this month, it looks like Montreal weather is now preparing for four consecutive days of thunderstorms. This isn't uncommon after excessive heat for reasons that Bill Nye the Science Guy tried to teach me back in the third grade. Although I can't tell you anything about what he taught me, I can sing his theme song like it's nobody's business.

But the grown-up in me now relies more on The Weather Network than everyone's favourite scientist for lessons in Montreal weather.

And any Montrealer can tell you that you would need a whole course to understand the weather and climates we can experience in a year... Sometimes even in just one day.

Even though we've all been excited to get outside, see our friends and finally enjoy some sunshine, even good weather sometimes needs a break.

Now I know what you're probably thinking: "but Wednesday is Canada Day!"

Yes, it's Canada Day. And moving day. Luckily though, we're expected to have nine hours of sun and it shouldn't be too windy.

Starting today until Wednesday, we'll have a risk of thunderstorms and heat up to 33 degrees. Plus, some pretty strong winds up to 38 km/h.

We'll see less than 1 mm of rain each day, though, so not to worry there.

Thursday will be 31 degrees and feel like 37. If that doesn't make up for four days of rain, I don't know what will.

If there's one that Bill Nye, living in Montreal, and 2020 have taught me, it's that just because we're officially in summer, doesn't mean it'll be clear skies every day.

If you're like me, you love a good thunderstorm.

Stay inside all cozy and gives you the perfect excuse to catch up on all your favourite shows.

For those of you that are bummed out about the gloomy forecast, not to worry — Thursday to Sunday are sunny and hot, hot, hot!

And that the forecast can always change.

But that's okay — I've also learned that just because there may be thunderstorms doesn't mean we can't find a reason to celebrate and make the most of Montreal summers.
