As the long days of summer come to an increasingly abrupt end and the harvest season arrives, autumnal activities are popping up across Quebec. The numerous corn mazes that take shape in the fields of the Saint Lawrence valley are among the most popular. One labyrinth just outside Montreal is opening in the first week of August and it'll challenge even the best puzzle-solvers.

Starting August 6, you can visit the fields at Verger Labonté every day to embark on this adventure.

This year, the maze — dubbed Chronilogik — has unfolded under the theme of time travel.

Visitors will have to solve the labyrinth in order to save the future.

There are a total of three routes that you have access to when you buy a ticket. The first one is for children five years old and under. The second is 45 minutes long on average.

Last, but not least, is the most difficult path: the orchard with the imperfect future.

The intense challenge can take from 90 minutes to two hours.

The rate is $16.95 per adult for all-day access and you can even bundle the maze with apple picking starting August 22.

Departures for the labyrinth are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The site closes at 6 p.m. on weekdays and 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

You have to reserve your place online, directly on the orchard's website, to ensure your chance to get lost in the turning paths and misleading riddles.

About 40 minutes from downtown Montreal, this activity is worth the trip.
