Winter is really amping up as a winter storm is set to hit Quebec with some regions expecting a whopping 40 centimetres of snow.

Despite being hit with our fair share of snow over the weekend, Montreal is now anticipating even more snowfall and the possibility of freezing rain. In fact, Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the Greater Montreal Area.

It seems as if winter is in full force across Quebec as we await the biggest snowstorm of the season. The snowstorm is expected to impose several meteorological hazards, including snowfall and a possible freezing rain weather warning from Environment Canada.

"A major storm is taking aim at Quebec through mid-week, with a swath of heavy snow, rain, strong winds and ice all on the table. This will be the biggest storm of the year for the province so far," The Weather Networks forecast centre indicated.

Montreal received its fair share of snowfall this past weekend but it isn't over yet. Despite Eastern Canada receiving a rather mild start to the winter, it appears as if the weather forecast is now catching up to the colder season.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Greater Montreal Area (Island of Montreal, Laval, Châteaguay and Longueuil) warning of additional snowfall starting late in the day on Tuesday, January 9.

While Montreal officially received its first snowstorm of the season in early December, it appears as if we won't be having another snowfall for quite a while, ruling out the possibility of a white Christmas in Montreal.

Despite snow wreaking havoc on the city, affecting driving conditions and sidewalks, there's nothing quite like waking up on Christmas morning to the sight of a subtle snowfall. Well, for Montrealers hoping for that to be the case this year, it seems as if the holiday magic won't be in effect this year.

'Tis really is the season, isn't it? Montreal has received its first major snowstorm of the winter season and this weekend's snowfall has been nothing short of magical.

Now, I totally get that winter isn't everyone's favourite time of year. Still, when you consider the fashion, the charm and festivities all matched with the tranquillity and beauty of a white veil of snow covering the city streets and landscapes, you've got a picture-perfect winter moment.

Montreal…winter is here.

Montreal welcomed its inaugural snowfall of the winter season this morning after nearly five centimetres of snow covered the streets and buildings of Montreal. Environment Canada issued a special weather statement earlier this week warning Montrealers of a possible snowfall and the federal weather agency was spot on.

Fall is in full force and the Montreal weather forecast is indicating perfect fall temps as cool and sunny days lay ahead. Despite a bumpy start to the autumn season, with a mix of hot weather followed by non-stop rain, it seems as if Mother Nature is giving Montreal a break to enjoy sweater weather once and for all.

Considering the fall time in Canada doesn't last nearly as long as many of us would prefer, you'll be able to get a true taste of the season this upcoming week.

Summer in Montreal may be officially over according to the calendar, but it appears as if Mother Nature has other plans in store for us. As October nears, the first week of spooky season is set to be rather warm, with summer temperatures making a quick comeback all week long. So, Montreal should prepare for a hot twist in the autumn tale as Montreal weather gives us one last taste of those warmer days.

The Weather Network released its 14-day Montreal weather forecast, indicating hotter-than-usual days ahead. Starting Tuesday, October 3 Montreal weather will reach a daily high of 26 degrees Celsius. The Montreal weather forecast is calling for a "sunny" week with temps remaining in the mid-twenties range for a few days.

While it's officially springtime in Quebec, it appears as if the lingering winter weather isn't bowing out as gracefully as we'd hoped. The Quebec weather forecast is calling for up to 20 centimetres of snow and it's safe to say we've all about had enough of this wintry nonsense.

The Weather Network says that another "messy system" is set to bring in more snow, rain and ice to parts of southern Quebec and Ontario.

The transition from winter to spring is often a fickle one, considering snowfall throughout the month of March (and sometimes April) is still very much possible. Now, with spring only days away, you might be wondering when you can officially ditch your winter tires in Quebec.

According to the provincial government, cars driving on Quebec roads should have winter tires as early as December 1 and as late as March 15. Drivers who fail to have winter tires installed on their vehicles up until the March 15 date can be subjected to a fine of $200 to $300.

Buckle up, folks because a snowstorm is about to hit southern Quebec...again. Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for several regions across the province — some of which are expected to receive up to 25 centimetres of snow.

The culprit? A low-pressure system originating from Texas that is set to hit Quebec this Saturday, March 4. The federal weather department issued the weather warning for the Eastern Townships, Gatineau, Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, Châteauguay, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Hyacinthe, Vaudreuil, Soulanges and Huntingdon.

As spring break season fast approaches for students across Quebec, it seems as if incoming weather conditions just might impact vacation plans.

According to The Weather Network, a low-pressure system from the southwest of the United States is "loaded with moisture" from the Gulf of Mexico and unfortunately, it's heading north. As a result, forecasts are predicting accumulations to be "significant," especially for western and southern Quebec.
