While Montreal officially received its first snowstorm of the season in early December, it appears as if we won't be having another snowfall for quite a while, ruling out the possibility of a white Christmas in Montreal.

Despite snow wreaking havoc on the city, affecting driving conditions and sidewalks, there's nothing quite like waking up on Christmas morning to the sight of a subtle snowfall. Well, for Montrealers hoping for that to be the case this year, it seems as if the holiday magic won't be in effect this year.

The Montreal weather forecast is calling for rather mild temperatures all week long, with some days reaching above zero degrees Celsius. According to The Weather Network, Christmas Day will actually be a warm one (well…warm for December, at least). The weather forecast is calling for a high of three degrees Celsius on December 24, and a high of six degrees Celsius on December 25.

Despite there being no snow in sight, Montrealers can expect lots of sun…expect for Christmas Day. While The Weather Network is anticipating a "mix of sun and clouds," it appears as if Environment Canada is calling for a much different forecast.

Per EnviroCan, there is a 60% chance of precipitation on December 25, meaning instead of a white Christmas, it will be a wet one.

The rain is expected to continue well into the week, with December 26 reaching a high of three degrees Celsius with chances of "mixed precipitation." For those who are taking advantage of Boxing Day deals, the rain is the ideal weather for shopping indoors. For those hoping to ski the slopes and sled down snow-filled hills, you'll have to wait a bit longer.
