The best honeymoon destinations were ranked and one Canadian spot managed to make the cut.

If you've tied the knot recently or are planning your dream wedding, the honeymoon is easily one of the most anticipated parts of saying "I do," but selecting a honeymoon destination is certainly no easy feat.

TripAdvisor ranked the top 25 honeymoon destinations across the globe, voted by TripAdvisor's travellers over a 12-month period, and global destinations such as Bali, Hoi An and the Maldives made up the top three.

While hot and sunny destinations are usually top picks for newlyweds, there are a few stunning spots across Canada that are totally worth celebrating your nuptials and Niagara-on-the-Lake is one of them.

The Canadian town ranked 18th overall thanks to it being one of the best wine country destinations in Canada. TripAdvisor highlighted Niagara's "well-preserve 19th-century village charm," as well as a few romantic activities including horseback riding, biking through the vineyards or enjoying a wine tasting at the many wineries Niagara-on-the-lake is home to.

Considering its proximity to Niagara Falls, couples can also enjoy views of the stunning attraction — whether it be up close and personal on the Maid of the Mist or all the way from Skylon Tower's revolving dining room overlooking the remarkable 'falls.

Wondering which other destinations made the cut? Here's the complete top 10 of the best honeymoon destinations in the world, per TripAdvisor's Traveller's Choice:
