The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) along with the MAPAQ have recalled several grocery products sold across Canada.

The CFIA has recalled the food items for reasons that pose a serious health and safety risk to Canadian consumers, including listeria, salmonella contamination, the presence of extraneous materials and undeclared ingredients, to name a few.

The recalled foods have been sold at grocery stores including Costco, IGA, Provigo, Loblaws and more. The federal health agency is urging Canadian consumers to verify if they have any of the affected food items. If so, it's best to toss them out immediately or return them to their point of purchase.

The ongoing CFIA recall involves foods such as salad kits, several egg and milk brands, frozen pizzas, frozen burgers, and various meat and cheese products.

The CFIA is ensuring that the affected items are being properly removed from the Canadian marketplace, which made lead to other recalls, the agency warns.

  • President's Choice Southwest Salad Kit | 369 g | Best Before: February 18, 2024

  • Dole Chop Kit Avocado Ranch | 319 g | Best Before: February 20, 2024

What You Need To Know: The recalled products were sold at Canadian grocery stores including Costco, Provigo and other shops that carry brands including Taylor Farms, Fresh Express, Dole and President's Choice.

"The affected products are being recalled from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination," the CFIA said. The recall was initially triggered in the United States and is associated with an outbreak investigation of Listeria infections linked to dairy products manufactured by Rizo Lopez Foods.

Per the MAPAQ, anyone in possession of one of these products is advised not to consume it. Canadians should return it to the establishment where they bought it or throw it away immediately.

The CFIA is also urging Canadian consumers to verify if they have any of the recalled products. If so, the agency says to not consume, serve, use, sell, or distribute recalled products and that recalled products should be thrown out or returned.
