The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation (MAPAQ) have recalled several egg and dairy products sold in at least two provinces across Canada.
The government has pulled the recalled foods from the marketplace for reasons including the presence of metal and a possible risk of salmonella — both of which can pose a serious health and safety risk to Canadian consumers.
The food recall was published on February 17, 2024, and includes products from brands such as Compliments, No Name and Laiterie Royala in both Quebec and Saskatchewan. However, it's important to note that recalled products may have also been sold and distributed in other provinces and territories.
What You Need To Know: According to the CFIA, several egg products are being recalled from the marketplace due to possible salmonella contamination. The recall was initially triggered following CFIA test results, who are currently conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.

What You Need To Do: Per the MAPAQ, anyone in possession of one of these products is advised not to consume it. Canadians should return it to the establishment where they bought it or throw it away immediately.
The CFIA is also urging Canadian consumers to verify if they have any of the recalled products. If so, the agency says to not consume, serve, use, sell, or distribute recalled products and that recalled products should be thrown out or returned.
While there have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products, the CFIA has outlined the symptoms associated with salmonella contamination.
"Food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections," the federal health agency said.

Additionally, Health Canada has published several product recalls including items such as Bissell vacuums, IKEA chargers, handheld steamers and personal massagers.
