A Frozen Burger Brand Sold Across Canada Has Been Recalled — Check Your Freezer ASAP

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has recalled a frozen burger brand that has been sold in grocery stores across Canada as it poses a serious health and safety risk to Canadian consumers.

The class two food recall was published on February 16, 2024, and involves affected products sold in the following provinces: Quebec, Alberta, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. It's important to note that recalled products may have also been distributed in other provinces and territories.

What You Need To Know: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recalled a Flamingo brand chicken burger due to the presence of extraneous materials.

"Flamingo brand Chicken Burgers Gluten Free have been recalled due to pieces of metal," the federal health agency said.

Furthermore, the recall also involves Olymel chicken products. Per the CFIA, the Olymel chicken popcorn and breaded chicken pieces (4 kg) have also been recalled due to the presence of metal pieces.

What Is Being Done: The CFIA is currently conducting an investigation and is verifying that the recalled products are being properly removed from the marketplace.

Per the recall notice, this investigation may lead to the recall of other products.

What You Need To Do: The CFIA is urging Canadian consumers to "not use, sell, serve or distribute the affected products." Furthermore, it's recommended to check if you have any of the affected products at home. If so, the CFIA suggests tossing it out immediately or returning it to the point of purchase.

If you have ingested the recalled item, the CFIA urges consumers to call their healthcare provider if they become sick.
