Montreal Comiccon is setting the stage for an epic showdown this summer, not of heroes versus villains, but of fans meeting their childhood legends face-to-face. The 14th edition marks a celebration of several pop culture anniversaries with tons of talent on the star-studded lineup. From July 5 to 7, attendees will get the chance to brush shoulders with icons from the depths of the sea to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.

Jodi Benson, whose voice brought Ariel to life in Disney's classic The Little Mermaid, anchors the guest list. Attendees can expect a tidal wave of nostalgia and insider tales from under the sea. Meanwhile, Star Wars devotees are in for an intergalactic treat. Ray Park, the force behind Darth Maul, will be hosting a Saber Action Master Class. The special session will give fans the chance to master lightsaber techniques from the legendary Sith Lord himself. Tickets for the special experience will go on sale next month.

And speaking of alien encounters, Vincent D'Onofrio, recognized for his portrayal of an unsettling extraterrestrial in Men in Black, brings his extensive acting prowess to this year's Comiccon as a Guest of Honour. With a career that spans more than four decades, D'Onofrio's roles have spanned the spectrum of morality and madness, ranging from the intense Private Pyle in Full Metal Jacket to the formidable Kingpin in Marvel's Daredevil.

The Trailer Park Boys, known for their off-the-wall antics, are also set to show face. True to form, John Paul Tremblay, Mike Smith, and Robb Wells will be in character, promising a blend of chaos and comedy. Also featured are Jeff Ward, recognized from One Piece as Buggy the Clown, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Deke Shaw. Wrestlers Kevin Nash and Rob Van Dam will join, bringing their ring-side charisma to the Comiccon floor.

The horror genre will make its eerie mark as well, with the Nightmare on Elm Street crew, led by the inimitable Robert Englund. Joining him are original cast members Amanda Wyss, Lisa Wilcox, Heather Langenkamp, and Ronee Blakley. The chilling ensemble will be available for photo ops and autograph sessions on July 6 and 7. They will also speak about the legacy of their cinematic terror in a 45-minute panel, discussing the inception and impact of the dream-haunting franchise that debuted forty years ago.

Meanwhile, the 50th anniversary of X-Men's Wolverine is a major highlight of this year's Comiccon, inviting fans to participate in a potential world record for the largest gathering of the clawed anti-hero. Attendees are encouraged to don any version of Wolverine's costumes, from the classic yellow and blue to the more subdued brown, and even variations representing his offspring and clones.

Comiccon will also feature a selection of the distinguished artists and writers who have shaped the X-Men universe. Attendees will have the chance to meet industry giants like Ryan Stegman of X-23, Spider-Man, and Venom fame; Mark Brooks, celebrated for his contributions to Avengers, Secret Empire, and Han Solo; and Zeb Wells, known for his involvement with Robot Chicken, New Mutants, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Hellions.

Spread across three floors, the event’s vast expanse will include a massive marketplace full of collectibles, memorabilia, and merchandise, an artist alley, and a slew of activities and panels. An Indie Game Zone will feature cutting-edge video games from the brightest local talents. You'll be able to explore virtual worlds and get a firsthand look at tomorrow's gaming trends.

The seventh-floor Autograph Area promises personal interactions with celebrities, while the Masquerade contest and a brand-new Celebrity Look-a-Like competition will give participants a stage to showcase their passion for cosplay.

You can snag general admission to Montreal Comiccon at an early bird rate through June 30, with prices starting at $33.75 plus taxes for Friday. After July 1, the cost increases to $40, including taxes and service fees. For Saturday, advance tickets start at $49.50 and go up to $65.

A three-day deluxe package, available for $101 in advance, offers additional perks like an exclusive tote bag and early entry, with prices rising to $125 after July. A comprehensive VIP experience, priced at $277 early bird (up to $350 in July), gives priority lines and seating, alongside unique memorabilia including a limited edition T-shirt and tote bag. Single-day VIP options are priced at $125 right now and jump to $165. For young attendees aged 13 to 21, a $17 early bird rate applies, becoming $20 after July 1.

Ticket prices cover entry to the event, access to the expo floor, and participation in panel and gaming areas, but do not include autographs, photo ops, or special event access, which are priced separately.

If you're ready to meet pop culture idols from your favourite franchises — heroic to horrific — this might just be your year. But don't count your superheroes yet, the guest list will likely grow more epic before the event begins.
