All Quebec Health & Social Service Workers Must Be Fully Vaccinated By October 15

Unvaccinated workers will be suspended without pay.

Staff Writer

As of October 15, all Quebec health and social service workers must be fully vaccinated or risk being suspended without pay.

Health Minister Christian Dubé confirmed this new rule at a press conference on Tuesday. The announcement comes in the wake of an increase in COVID-19 cases.

The measure applies to both public and private sector employees.

Dubé highlighted that it's essential for health care and social service workers especially because the health network is "already under a lot of pressure — particularly in the Montreal region."

"We cannot, therefore, accept that workers put vulnerable people at risk," he said. "The health care network must be safe."
