Now that Christmas has come and gone, we need new ways to embrace winter. That's why it's a good thing sledding season in Montreal has officially begun. And, in most cases, it's free.

December 26 Most Montreal parks are open for sledding season

On December 26, the conditions don't look good for sledding. But keep an eye out because every Montrealer knows our weather can turn on a dime.

So, where are the best local parks to go sledding?

If you're a nature lover in search of scenic slopes, the City of Montreal recommends Parc-nature du Cap-Saint-Jacques or Parc-nature de l'Île-de-la-Visitation.

The best views can be found on the slopes at Parc Morgan, Parc des Hirondelles, Parc du Mont-Royal and Parc Jean-Drapeau.

For the best inclines, thrill-seekers should check out Parc Francesca-Cabrini or Parc du Pélican.

You can rent equipment from the city here. Don't forget: it's free this year for Montrealers under 18 years old!
