Health Canada has published a consumer product recall regarding baby sleepers sold at Walmart department stores across Canada.

The company reported that 371,469 units of the affected products were sold in Canada. The baby clothing is being removed from the marketplace due to choking and ingestion hazards, Health Canada indicated.

Here are the details regarding recalled Walmart products:

  • George Sleeper | Boys | Style Number: GRF20400TB
  • George Sleeper | Boys | Style Number: GRF20400IB

Per Health Canada, the foot grips of the George Brand Sleepers, "may fall off or be removed through repeated washing, posing choking and ingestion hazards." The affected products were sold from December 2021 to January 2024.

As of January 5, 2024, the company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. Nevertheless, the federal health agency is urging Canadian consumers to "immediately stop using the recalled products."

Health Canada recommends checking the style number printed on the collar in order to determine if they are impact by the Walmart recall. If you do have the recalled baby clothes, consumers can return them to Walmart stores for a full refund.
