3 Montreal Couche-Tard locations were hit with over $10K in health inspection fines

As of April 25, several Montreal restaurants, cafés, and bars have been hit with health inspection fines from the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation au Québec (MAPAQ) for reasons including sanitation issues, staff hygiene, food quality as well as preparation and processing standards.
Following its inspection of three Couche-Tard locations across Montreal, the MAPAQ penalized the convenience stores with a collective $10,500 health inspection fine.

Couche-Tard de Salaberry

The first of the three fined Couche-Tard locations is on 2707, rue de Salaberry in Montreal's Nouveau-Bordeaux area. The initial inspection took place back in 2022. However, the MAPAQ and Montreal Municipal Court processed the judgment on April 17, 2024.
"The site or vehicle must be free of contaminants, pollutants, all species of animals including insects and rodents, or their excrement," MAPAQ said.
Due to failure to meet the health inspection standards, MAPAQ penalized this specific Couche-Tard location with a $3,500 fine.
Couche-Tard Rockland

The MAPAQ also fined a Couche-Tard located at 2460, ch. Rockland in Montreal's Mont-Royal borough. The initial inspection took place on September 9, 2022. However, the MAPAQ and Montreal Municipal Court officially processed the judgement on April 17.
The Couche-Tard was fined a total of $3,000 for failure to keep the premises clean and free of pollutants, contaminants, as well as animal and insect remnants.
Couche-Tard Crémazie

The Couche-Tard is located at 180, boul. Crémazie O., was fined $4,000 on June 6, 2023. However, due to processing times, the judgement date, in collaboration with Montreal's municipal court did not take place until April 17, 2024.
According to the MAPAQ, the Couche-Tard site must be free of "contaminants, pollutants, all species of animals including inspection and rodents, or their excrement."
