Food recalls in Canada: ground meat, cheese, cookies and other grocery items to look out for

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has recalled several food products sold across Canada that pose a serious health and safety risk to Canadian consumers. The affected food items have been removed from the marketplace for reasons including microbial contamination, extraneous materials and undeclared ingredients.
The CFIA is currently investigating the ongoing recalls and is verifying that the affected products are being properly removed from the marketplace. The federal health agency has also shared several steps to follow in case you have any of the recalled items.
Here are the six recalled foods sold across Canada to look out for.
Canada 653 brand ground meat

Recall Reason: Per the CFIA, the Karachi Bakery brand Gluten Free Cookies are being recalled due to undeclared gluten.
What You Need To Do: "Do not use, sell, serve or distribute the affected products," federal health agency said.

Recall Reason: Per the CFIA, Chef Corey's brand Chicken Pot Pie has been recalled due to undeclared milk.
What You Need To Do: Ontario consumers are being asked to "not use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product." Furthermore, if you have a dairy intolerance or allergy, it is best to keep away from the affected item, the CFIA indicates.

Recall Reason: According to the CFIA, the affected product is being recalled from the marketplace because it contains anchovy which is not declared on the label.
What You Need To Do: The CFIA is urging consumers to "not consume recalled products to which you are allergic or sensitive as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction."

Recall Reason: The food item is being recalled by the CFIA due to potential salmonella contamination.
What You Need To Do: According to the CFIA, if you suspect illness from the recalled product, contact your healthcare provider. It's also important to check for recalled items and avoid consuming, serving, selling, or distributing them. Consumers should dispose of or return recalled products to the purchase location. Salmonella-contaminated food may not show signs but can still cause illness. Vulnerable groups may face severe infections, while others may experience short-term symptoms like fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea, with potential long-term complications like severe arthritis.

Recall Reason: The cheese curds are being removed from the marketplace as the packaging does not indicate the proper storing information for safekeeping. Furthermore, MAPAQ indicated that the product may also contain eggs.
