Health Canada has issued a consumer product recall regarding several cleaning products sold across Canada that could pose a serious health and safety risk.

According to the federal health agency, the recalled products do not meet the labelling and child-resistant packaging requirements of the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations.

The lack of appropriate labelling details and child-resistant packaging could ultimately result in unintentional exposure to the products and lead to serious illness or injury.

What You Need To Know: Health Canada issued the consumer product recall on March 15, 2024, involving four Chemical Guys products.

Here are all the details about the recalled cleaning items:

  • All Clean+ Citrus Base All Purpose Cleaner | 473 mL / 16 fl. oz | Product Code: CLD101
  • Barebones Dark Shine Undercarriage Protectant | 473 mL / 16 fl. oz | Product Code: TVD104
  • Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover | 473 mL / 16 fl. oz | Product Code: SPI108
  • Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover French/English | 473 mL / 16 fl. oz | Product Code: SPI108

According to Health Canada, over 30,000 units of the affected products have been sold across Canada from February 2018 to February 2024.

What Is Being Done: Health Canada is ensuring that the affected Chemical Guys products are being properly removed from the marketplace. As of March 1, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada, the recall warning page indicates.

What You Need To Do: According to the federal government, consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and dispose of them by municipal hazardous waste guidelines.

Furthermore, Canadian customers are eligible for a refund. For more information and details on how to submit a claim for refund or credit, consumers can contact the company by phone at +1-866-822-3670, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT, Monday to Friday, or by email at customerservice@chemicalguys.com.

Keep Reading: The CFIA has also recalled over a dozen grocery items sold across Canada including salad kits, certain dips and salsas, several egg and milk products, frozen pizzas, frozen burgers and even meat products for reasons including salmonella contamination, listeria outbreaks, and the presence of metal pieces.

Additionally, Health Canada has also published a series of consumer product recalls affecting items sold nationwide including vacuums, USB adapters, iPhone chargers, several medications, baby products, and handheld steamers, to name a few.
