The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) along with the Québec Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) have recalled several grocery items sold across Canada for reasons that can pose a serious health and safety risk to Canadian consumers.

The affected foods sold across Canada are currently being removed from the marketplace for reasons including the risk of cyanide poisoning, undeclared ingredients, the presence of metal pieces and microbial contamination.

The CFIA is currently investigating each food recall and has listed the steps Canadian shoppers should take to minimize any possible illness or reaction to the recalled items.

Here are the six foods to look out for and what to do:

What You Need To Do: If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, contact your healthcare provider, the CFIA said. Furthermore, recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased. Food contaminated with Listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.
