A Laval couple has a lot to celebrate after taking home a whopping million-dollar windfall.

Line Bourque and Réjean Daspe took a chance at luck with the Quebec lottery and managed to walk away with six figures playing Loto-Quebec's Extra.

The couple discovered they were millionaires following the January 16 Loto-Quebec draw and they simply could not believe their eyes. “Darling, we’re millionaires!" Daspe told his wife with tears in his eyes, the crown corporation said.

Daspe informed Loto-Québec that he rarely buys lottery tickets on Tuesdays. However, on a spontaneous Tuesday evening visit to his nearby convenience store to check other tickets and redeem a free one, he decided to spend a dollar on the Extra. A decision that would forever change Daspe and his spouse's life.

“It’s crazy how one dollar can change everything!” the winner told Loto-Québec. Turns out an Extra can sometimes earn you a little extra, or in Daspe and Bourque's case…a million dollars.

When Daspe shared the news with Bourque, Loto-Quebec said that she did not believe him at first and needed to verify the ticket herself. "I believe it more now," she reportedly told Daspe after realizing they'd really won.

So, what exactly does the Laval duo plan on spending their million dollars on?

According to Loto-Quebec, the couple have already made arrangements to spend their winnings, which include purchasing a new home and travelling across Europe this spring. Not too shabby, right?

The winning ticket was purchased at the Voisin convenience store at 3490 Boulevard Le Carrefour in Laval. Loto-Quebec said that the retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
