A Laurentides family has much to celebrate after winning the Lotto Max jackpot — taking home a whopping $50 million.

Nancy Gauthier, her mom Jeanette Boisvert and Boisvert's spouse Gilles Larouche will share the life-changing windfall following the December 15 Lotto Max draw.

According to Loto-Québec, Gauthier had initially purchased the Lotto Max ticket at her mother's suggestion. After the draw, Gauthier verified the numbers and discovered the trio had a winning ticket on their hands.

"One right number, two right numbers, three right numbers...” Gauthier quickly saw that the winning combination's first six numbers matched those on her ticket. She hid the seventh number, which would determine whether she won the jackpot, with her finger. “It has got to be 45!” she said. And well...it was.

"She fell to her knees and screamed for joy!" Loto-Québec said. A reaction most people would have after discovering they'd just become a multi-millionaire. And we mean multi-millionaire.

The crown corporation said that Gauthier kept the winning ticket on her up until the very moment she gave it to Loto-Québec.

Now, after being 50,000,000 million dollars richer, both Gauthier and Boisvert quit their jobs and decided to purchase a small farm alongside Larouche in which they will all live together. "The three winners have decided to live closer to nature," Loto-Québec said.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Couche-Tard at 508 Boulevard Saint-Anne in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines. The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $500,000.
