A Montreal resident has much to celebrate over after winning the lottery and taking home $1,000 a week for life.

Jocelyne Lessard from Montreal won the Gagnant à vie jackpot and opted for the lump sum of $1,000,000. Who doesn't want one million dollars, right?

According to Loto-Québec, Lessard is a avid fan of scratch tickets but hadn't had much luck in the past. That is until now…

Lessard decided to play the Gagnat à vie lottery game while running errands at Place Versailles shopping mall in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough of Montreal.

The Montreal resident waited until she got home before scratching her ticket. When she did, she uncovered three balloon symbols in the bottom boxes followed by the "VIE" text. Loto-Québec said that Lessard "couldn't believe it," and had to verify her ticket in order to truly believe they'd won.

Lessard and her husband went to the Loto-Québec kiosk to check her ticket. "The lady at the counter congratulated me and told me to call Loto-Québec," Lessard said. "And that’s when I realized that I had truly won $1,000 a week for life.”

Loto-Québec said that Lessard plans on enjoying her retirement to the fullest following her new windfall. And rightfullty so.

The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
