Tickets for the game against FC Cincinnati will be exclusively available for season ticket holders, who can confirm their tickets online as of July 15 at 10 a.m, with ticket restrictions to comply with occupancy limits.
The Club is also giving away 350 tickets to frontline workers and their families, "as a tribute to their colossal work" during COVID-19.
"The past few months have been very difficult for our players and staff, who had to go into exile, but they have shown tremendous resilience," said a statement by CF Montreal president and CEO, Kevin Gilmore.
"We’ve been working closely with the league, the two other Canadian clubs and the different government levels to be able to play in Montreal."
The game will kick off on Saturday, July 17 at 7:30 p.m.
“There was some interest in Erik during the past few weeks and we listened to the offers, even though we were satisfied with Erik’s work," said CF Montréal sporting director Olivier Renard in a statement.
"Because he’s not vaccinated against Covid-19, his situation was problematic and we started considering a trade when we got the confirmation that the team could return to Montreal [...] so we concluded this deal, which we felt was very satisfactory.”
Renard said Hurtado confirmed he was not comfortable taking the vaccine before the deal was concluded.
CF Montréal acquired Hurtado on February 16 — less than five months in the black and blue uniform. He played seven games with Montreal, including two starts, and got one assist.
La Maison Onyx is a pop-up that will run between July and October, giving marginalized chefs a stage to showcase their culinary expertise. Up first is Saint-Henri's Tropikàl Restobar, a Caribbean and Afro-Latin restaurant, which will be there from July 7 to July 27.
Tropikàl will be followed by Maquis Yasolo, an Afro-Québécoise restaurant in Saint-Henri. Later, MasterChef Canada’s Marissa Leon-John of Elle Jay’s Private Dining and Afro-Vegan chef Evy Mendes of Cantine Toca Toca will be serving up delicious eats.
La Maison Onyx is an initiative by DESTA Food, a Black youth network and non-profit business incubator for Black businesses.
According to a DESTA Food statement, La Maison Onyx will feature street food-style menus using local Quebec products, chef-led market tours at Jean-Talon Market, and on-site food demonstrations.
More chefs and Montreal restaurants will be announced in the coming weeks and months.
