The government is updating its Quebec COVID-19 rapid test guide to encourage residents to insert the test swabs in their mouths, as well as their noses to increase the chances of an accurate test result.

As of Friday, the French-language rapid test user guide already includes the optional extra step. It asks test-takers to rub the swab against the inside of each cheek for five seconds before inserting it in each nostril.

For those who've been wondering where the heck to send your Quebec rapid test results, there's finally a self-reporting platform where you can do so.

In a news release on January 25, 2022, the provincial government announced this new platform which "will allow people to transmit their rapid test results, whether negative or positive, for statistical purposes and to better fight the spread of the virus in the community."

High demand for tests amid skyrocketing numbers of infections, officials said, was overwhelming testing sites. As a result, the general population has to rely on those rapid at-home tests available at pharmacies.

Now, the province is building a platform for Quebecers to self-report their results.
