Montreal is a city on the cusp of a huge transformation. With several large Montreal transit projects underway that will connect the city like never before, the future is looking bright for the metropolis.

As you probably know by now, we absolutely LOVE public transit news here at the Blog and since the metro hasn't flooded recently, we thought that you'd all enjoy a run-down of four huge transit projects currently taking shape.

The first winter tests on the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM) network are underway outside Montreal.

On January 27, the first train, consisting of two cars, ran on the 3.5-kilometre testing segment in the South Shore. Tests will go on for about 13 months.

At around 4 p.m. on January 20, a 12-year-old boy was found driving a car down route 105 south by la Sûreté du Québec (SQ) de l'Outaouais.

If there's one good thing to come out of 2020's mostly indoor lifestyle, it's that the world is finally hopping aboard the K-drama train.

With cliffhangers in nearly every episode, swoon-worthy romance scenes, intense plot twists, and a promise of at least one love traingle (or square) per show, Korean dramas make for some of the most addictive viewing on Netflix. And don't even get us started on the scenery.

Flowers — as gifts or home decor — can add beauty and magic to our lives, but they often disappoint us within a week or two when they inevitably die. And none of us need more disappointment in 2020. Iruda Atelier, a Griffintown flower shop run by florist Iruda Kim, solves that problem by making bouquets out of "premium dried flowers," which are designed to last up to 24 months.

What's even more impressive is that Kim offers the option of putting the dried flowers in bubbles, which are unlike anything typically seen in Canada.

They're giving us major fairy-tale vibes. Remember Belle's enchanted glass-encased rose in Beauty and the Beast? Yeah. That.

Times are tough. COVID-19 cases are on the rise, meaning businesses are shutting down and visits with loved ones are restricted. That may be why last night's stunning Montreal sunset meant so much — like a ray of hope beaming across the city.

Montrealers were clearly over the moon (pun intended!) to see the sky ablaze in shades of orange, yellow, purple and pink. It literally looked like the sky was on fire.

Us locals love staying in our little Montreal bubble, but sometimes a little escape from the city does one a world of good. Even just a trip over a bridge lets you discover new things! Montreal's South Shore doesn't have full geographic boundaries, but in short, is made up of towns like Boucherville, Sainte-Julie, Verchères, Beloeil, Chambly, Mont-St-Hilaire, Longueuil, Brossard, Saint-Hubert, Saint-Lambert, Candiac, Châteauguay, Delson, La Prairie, among others.

So yes, it's quite large. And more space means more things to explore.
