6 Montreal fast food restaurants were hit with huge health inspection fines from the MAPAQ

The Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation au Quebec (MAPAQ) has hit several Montreal fast food restaurants with hefty health inspection fines over the past few months.
MAPAQ determined that many of the fast food spots in Montreal were not operating by its health and safety standards, issuing fines anywhere from $500 to $4,500 for improper food handling, temperatures, as well as premises cleanliness and staff hygiene issues.
Here are six Montreal restaurants that were given MAPAQ health inspection fines:
Amir

Inspection Date: September 28, 2022
MAPAQ Fine: $1,000
Reason: According to the MAPAQ, Amir received a health inspection fine as the premises, vehicles, equipment, materials and utensils used for preparing, packaging, storing, transporting, labelling and serving products, and other sanitary installations, must be clean.
Centrale Bergham

MAPAQ Fine: $3,500
Reason: According to the MAPAQ report, the site or vehicle must be free from contaminants, pollutants, and all species of animals including insects and rodents or their excrement.

Reason: According to the MAPAQ, products which can be altered by heat, except whole fresh fruit and vegetables, must be cooled without delay and maintained constantly at an internal and ambient temperature not exceeding four degrees Celsius until delivery to the consumer, except during the time required for the application of a manufacturing process or treatment recognized in the food industry and which requires a higher temperature.
