The best spas and wellness centres in North America were recently ranked and one Quebec spa managed to make the cut.

Spas of America, an online travel platform showcasing the top spas and wellness experiences across the United States, Canada and Mexico, dropped its list of Top 100 Spas of 2023, and a total of 12 Canadian destinations appeared on the ranking, one of which is right here in Quebec.

Spas of America assessed the volume of unique pageviews generated by spa and wellness travel enthusiasts visiting spas across North America from January 1 to December 31, 2023. To be considered, top spas must have a Google Review rating of 4.0 or higher.

The Spa at Séc-he in Palm Springs, California was ranked number one, while the Red Mountain Resort in Ivins, Utah and the Sunstone Spa at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa in Rancho Mirage, California made up the remainder of the top three.

Although the Quebec spa didn't make the top 10, two Canadian wellness destinations did. The Grotto Spa at Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Resort in Parksville, British Columbia ranked sixth overall, while the Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain in Ontario ranked eighth.

So, which Quebec spa made the cut?

The BALNEA, spa + Réserve Thermale in Bromont, Quebec ranked 78th overall. The spa is located an hour from Montreal and offers a hot and cold experience via its many hot tubs, saunas and cold pools, as well as massages, wellness treatments and relaxation rooms.

The Quebec spa is open all year round and even has access to Lake Gale, which is accessible via a walking path directly from the spa.
