Starbucks has once again pushed up the arrival of its cult classic, the Pumpkin Spice Latte. As if 2023 wasn't chaotic enough, we now have to endure PSL mania a smidge earlier this year. As of August 24, prepare to get your fall on while it's still objectively summer outside.

Now, don’t get me wrong. The Pumpkin Spice Latte has its merits. The hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove makes for a pleasant sipper. And it’s basically become the unofficial mascot of “I can’t even” culture. But Starbucks, do we really need to rush the season? Some of us are still trying to enjoy our last gasps of summer, without being reminded that winter is looming.

The beginning of the holiday season is a corporate fabrication. Electric displays, lurid retail window decorations and plastic gifts are the true heralds of the months-long buildup to the December holidays. But free stuff somehow makes it all tolerable. Starbucks Canada is bringing back its holiday season free cup giveaway, offering reusable red tumblers to customers who order a so-called handcrafted fall or winter beverage on November 17.

Canadians don't even have to leave the comfort of their homes to claim theirs. The promotion is valid for in-store, drive-thru, Starbucks app and Uber Eats purchases.

Well, summer is over. At least unofficially. Starbucks announced Monday that its famous Pumpkin Spice Latte is back across Canada as of Tuesday, August 24.

The cold brew with pumpkin cream will also return on the same date, along with the coffee chain's beloved fall snacks: the pumpkin scone, pumpkin cream cheese muffin and pumpkin bread.
