2 Quebec Cities Made The Top 10 Domestic Destinations Canadians Want To Visit This Summer

Based on hotel searches, Expedia released a list of the top 10 domestic destinations where Canadians are showing interest in travelling this summer — and two cities in Quebec made the cut. 

Quebec City and Mont-Tremblant ranked ninth and tenth on the list of Canadian travel destinations below cities in Alberta, B.C. and Ontario.

According to a study by digital automotive company Twinner, Montreal ranks among the most honest cities in the world but is actually the least honest city in Canada. 

By evaluating six metrics — "transparency in government," "transparency in society," "transparency in economy," "civic honesty," "perception of theft" and "car dealer reviews" — the company put our fine city in 54th place out of 350 cities included in the study.

Montreal Has To Pay $3,000,000 In A Settlement After It Was Sued About Formula E

The City of Montreal and Formula E organizers have finally reached a settlement after five long years of deliberations and arguments. The saga, which involved a lawsuit against the city and Mayor Valérie Plante following a cancelled 2018 race, is finally over thanks to the out-of-court agreement. 

In a press release, Benoit Dorais, chairman of the executive committee responsible for finance and legal affairs, said that the city "authorized an out-of-court settlement in the amount of capital, interest and costs of $3 million payable by the City to Formula E Opérations Limitée (FEO) in full and final settlement of the case."

A City On Montreal's South Shore Can't Drink Its Tap Water Right Now For A Gross Reason

The City of Brossard, a municipality on Montreal's South Shore, has issued a boil water advisory "until further notice" so residents will want to skip drinking tap water or boil it for at least a minute before doing so.

"The City of Brossard is issuing a boil water advisory for its entire territory following laboratory analysis results that indicate the presence of fecal coliforms in the water system," reads a statement. If it's not clear, fecal coliforms are bacteria passed through the feces of humans and animals.
