montreal brunch restaurant

Montreal brunch just got a little sweeter and spicier with the arrival of Piel Canela, housed in Caifan taco bar. They're serving a massive Latin American-inspired brunch menu filled with options you won't find elsewhere, like Tlatoyo de Canard, a Mexican corn patty dish, and Pancakes del Amanecer layerd with lucuma-infused dulce de leche. They've also got a variety of colourful cocktails and bottomless mimosas to complement your meal.

Piel Canela means "Cinnamon Skin," which hints at what they're all about: warm vibes and some serious flavour. The decor is festive, featuring a pink, graffitied bar, and caged hanging lights, creating an atmosphere that's as lively as the menu.

The announcement came as a surprise to patrons who have frequented the Passé Composé location for the better part of a decade. Known for its delectable brunch offerings, the restaurant has been a staple in the Montreal food scene, drawing crowds from all over the city.

When it comes to avocados, I don't play around. Whether I'm asking for extra avocado in my sushi, making some homemade guac, or just eating half an avo for a quick pick me up — I'm all about it. So, when I heard that Montreal got its very first avocado bar, you know I had to check it out.

AVO, a pop-up resto at the Zizi Pop spot in the Village, officially opened its doors on February 16, and it didn't take me too long before venturing down to get a taste of their gourmet avocado dishes.
