Health Canada Recalled A USB Charger Sold Nationwide & It Could Cause Electric Shocks

Health Canada has recalled an AC adapter products sold across Canada due to electric shock and potential fire.
The consumer product recall was published on February 28, 2024, and is currently being removed from the marketplace.
Health Canada is currently conducting an investigation and is verifying that the recalled products are being properly removed from shelves across Canada.
The company reported that a total of 4,920 units of the affected products, which were manufactured in China, were sold in Canada between May 2022 and February 2024.
Here are the details regarding the recalled USB adapter:

The products are being recalled as they may pose a fire hazard and potentially shock consumers in possession of the affected USB charger/adapter.
What Is Being Done: Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that the affected product poses an unreasonable risk of electric shock and fire.
As of February 13, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
What You Need To Do: Health Canada is urging Canadian consumers to not use, sell, or distribute recalled items. In fact, the federal health agency recommends consumers "immediately stop using the recalled product and contact the retailer to return the product for a refund or dispose of the product following municipal electronic waste requirements.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
