montreal home for sale

A Montreal house partially collapsed earlier this week, peeling off the building's front wall and exposing the interior — including tenants' personal items, which became visible from the street.

While photos and videos of the unfortunate incident have been going viral on social media, many are being posted without context, leading to unanswered questions. We'll do our best to answer some of those questions for you here.

There are a lot of reasons to watch TV's Bridgerton from the fairytale-like romances to the dramatic plotlines to the steamy sex scenes. But ultimately, the show provides viewers with a (highly fictionalized) window into aristocratic life in Regency-era England.

Luckily, the historical inaccuracy doesn't take away from the breathtaking period costumes and sets, which of course includes the real estate. You may not have thought about it this way before, but Bridgerton could be the go-to Netflix show for sneaking a peek at extraordinary properties... sorry, Selling Sunset.

You may have already heard about the century-old duplex near Marché Saint-Jacques that's been turning the heads of city officials and local passersby — for better and for worse.

Painted bright pink, green and blue with yellow doors and purple stairs, this striking home has become the subject of a heated debate between those who love it, despite it being a marketing stunt, and those who hate it, some even claiming it violates urban planning regulations.

Walking past this old house in the heart of Outremont, you might notice a glass cube peeking out from atop the roof. It's easy to miss, but a total showstopper for anyone who spots it — an unusual crowning detail for a residential property.

"What is that modern box doing sitting on top of that traditional, brick building?" you might wonder. Since the home is for sale, we can not only answer that question but also allow you to peek inside. And spoiler alert: the glass cube is not a swimming pool or a sunroom or a library, it's a whole damn penthouse spanning 1,600 square feet.

Montreal is home to a number of weird, wacky and wonderful homes, but the "roller coaster house" (known to others as the "molar house") is truly iconic. Since the property backs out onto rue Fleet, chances are you've driven past it and pointed it out, marvelling at its exterior design. But what does it look like on the inside?

If you've always wondered about the interior, you finally have an opportunity to peek inside.

When you think of the average Montreal home for sale, you're not thinking ten-million-dollar price point or in-ground pool or two-car garage, most of the time. But this manor in Westmount is serving just that, with a price tag that could make Celine Dion blush: $13.95 million.

Shrouded in trees and sitting on a whopping 11,000 square foot lot, the house at 809 Upper-Belmont Ave is as mysterious as she is expensive. A child of the late 80's, the manor is perhaps less ostentatious than you'd expect for the price, but its true impact only arrives when viewed from above.

Have you ever wanted to live inside a castle, except the inside looks like a timeless, whitewashed maze? Look no further, friend: I've got the home for you.

Built in 1929, this grey stone mansion hidden from the street behind tall shrubbery has an unusually tall and thick chimney nestled between a strange cylindrical outcropping and a perfectly normal section of the house. Just look at this rear exterior:

Laval may not be the seaside vacation destination of your dreams, but this Laval-sur-le-Lac mansion's private beach might just change your mind. With a hefty price tag of $10.5 million, this home is anything but humble, especially considering its footprint of over 123,000 square feet. The house has four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms for a total of 12 rooms spanning over 9,500 square feet of indoor living space.

Let's take a look at the entrance of this 1975 construction, and see what makes the home's realtor call it "reminiscent of the finest properties in Malibu or Miami."

Sometimes, the perfect home is hiding in plain sight. For non-filthy-rich Montrealers, the prospect of owning waterfront property sounds as ludicrous as owning a home in the city in the first place. But this humble mobile home for sale in Montreal could be the perfect place for a small family, with its direct access to the Rivière des Prairies

The home includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms for a total of seven rooms spanning just over 1,000 square feet. Around the back is the water access (scroll down for some of the views, including a truly blissful sunset pic).

Although Twilight's Cullens may have fictionally lived in the United States, it's impossible to imagine any other family living in this massive woodland mansion in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, an off-island suburb of Montreal. And few families can swing the startling price tag: $10,995,000 for all 26 rooms.

That's just shy of $11 million, for those of us who can't read numbers. No judgement.

Sometimes, things seem chaotic on the outside, but everything falls into place once you step over the threshold. Is that a metaphor? Maybe! But it's also a literal description of the experience of looking at this $6 million Westmount house at 618 ave Murray Hill.

This home is a five-bedroom 1914 construction, which explains the aggressively plain (yet somehow overdressed) exterior. It's been very newly renovated, so much so that certain staging photos are actually virtually rendered. The house is also across from Murray Hill park, giving its owners a remarkable view.

If you know anything at all about Senneville, Quebec, you probably know that it's among the wealthiest West Island suburbs on the island of Montreal. With homes going for millions on the regular, it's reasonable to assume many of them are at least a little rich-people-weird.

This $12 million mansion is no outlier, packing 15 rooms into a two-storey building that sprawls over a beautiful plot of seven acres of forested land near a lake. The building even has its own nickname: Le Sabot, or The Boot. With a four-car garage and a 20-car driveway, this spot is perfect for a partier with money to spare.
