Exactly one year ago, a group of wayward Quebec influencers and reality television stars was floundering in Mexico after their mid-air, mid-COVID debauchery on a Sunwing flight to Cancun made headlines across Canada. Quebecers might remember some of the story's principal characters, namely eccentric trip organizer James William Awad and the woman seen on video vaping aboard the aircraft, aspiring pilot Vanessa Sicotte.

The absolutely ridiculous story would inevitably become a feature on Bye Bye 2022, Radio-Canada's sketch comedy recap of the previous year. Sicotte shared her reaction to the parody with Narcity Québec.

Élisabeth Rioux is certainly no stranger to harsh comments online. But when it comes to her daughter, she's not playing around. Rioux, who welcomed her daughter, Wolfie back in July 2020 is setting the record straight on her little one's outfits after a slew of comments criticized the 25-year-old for letting Wolfie wear socks and Crocs.

In a recent Instagram post, Élisabeth can be seen holding her daughter on a bridge in Venice, Italy. Well, it didn't take much time before folks called Rioux out for allowing Wolfie to wear an oft-considered fashion faux-pas. Now the swimwear designer is telling us how she really feels.

As of March 28, the Government of Canada has issued a total of 24 fines to passengers aboard the December 30 Quebec Sunwing flight to Cancun. The chartered flight made international headlines after videos from the cabin showed passengers, including local influencers and celebrities, partying maskless in their seats and the aisle.

But as Transport Canada continues its crackdown, James William Awad, the flamboyant and enigmatic flight organizer, says passengers have no plans to pay penalties. Instead, they aim to challenge them.

Members of the infamous Quebec Sunwing flight to Cancún continue to face consequences for their mile-high party. On Monday, the federal Minister of Transport, Omar Alghabra, announced authorities had issued six new penalties to flight passengers. That's in addition to the six fines that went out at the beginning of March.

All six of the earlier fines went to individuals who were not fully vaccinated before boarding the charter flight to Mexico, despite federal vaccination rules for airline passengers.

Time has passed since images of a party on a Sunwing flight to Mexico rocked the Internet — perhaps best encapsulated by that iconic photo of a woman in sunglasses vaping on the plane. Between frequent headlines about organizer James William Awad, public apologies and poutine inspired by the affair, the Quebec influencers involved racked up a lot of online attention.

For the vaping woman, Vanessa Sicotte, this has also meant racking up big bucks on OnlyFans. In an Instagram story, Sicotte revealed how much money she made in her first month on the popular content-sharing platform that most people use for adult content.

The Sunwing debacle, beginning with the now-infamous flight to Cancun on December 30, has been completely bonkers. Local celebrities and "influencers" didn't just throw a party on a charter flight in apparent, complete disregard of COVID-19 regulations, they shared videos of the party online, and then seemed surprised by the backlash.

And there was backlash. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau himself called them "idiots." Sunwing said it tried to negotiate their return home, but that the group rejected the company's terms. Sunwing, Air Canada and Air Transat all subsequently refused to let the passengers of the flight fly home, leaving the Trudeau-designated "idiots" to fend for themselves in Mexico.
