As Montrealers, we know our city is a gem, but it's still sweet to get global recognition. Lonely Planet, in its golden anniversary edition, has ranked Montreal as the third-best global hotspot to visit in 2024. Not that we're counting, but this is the second time we've caught their eye since 2013. You'll also notice Toronto isn't on the list…

A recent ranking of the best cities in the world includes one Canadian destination. Condé Nast Traveler released the winners of its annual Reader's Choice Awards, highlighting the best of the best in travel and hospitality, and the True North gained some much-deserved recognition.

A new ranking of the best student cities in the world dropped and Montreal managed to secure a top 20 spot. Despite Montreal's high rank, we still failed to land first when it comes to the best Canadian city for students — losing to Toronto by 1.2 points.

If you work from home in Montreal then congratulations because you're living in the world's second-best city to do that, according to a new ranking.

HR platform WorkMotion's study, "The Cities Best Facilitating Remote Work: A Global Index," gave Montreal a total score of 98.20 based on 17 criteria. Melbourne in Australia was the only place to beat out Montreal with a perfect score of 100.
