tim hortons quebec

Tim Hortons is undoubtedly a Canadian icon. But just because we love it, that doesn't mean it's always perfect. We all have those "ugh" moments, whether it's a messed-up order or simply a poorly-stirred coffee.

Like any big chain, Tim's has its fair share of quirks, which is fairly understandable given the sheer scale of its operations. We recently asked Montrealers what bugs them the most about Tim Hortons in Quebec, and let's just say they had pretty big feelings about it. From language frustrations to order mistakes, the list of complaints came in fast.

Tim Hortons just dropped two new savoury menu items and when I tell you to run to get your hands on one of 'em, believe me.

Joining the roster of decadent Tim Hortons offerings are two new pinwheel pastries — a roasted red pepper and Swiss flavour and the caramelized onion and parmesan option. Described as the "perfect snack to satisfy your savoury cravings," the new Timmies pinwheel pastries are buttery, flaky and served warm. And with a description as appetizing as that, I obviously needed to taste test both of them.

National purveyor of morning coffee, quick afternoon snacks and sugary (so, so sugary) confections, Tim Hortons, has revealed the Canadian cities that stood out in 2022 for their love of the chain's most popular food and drinks. The city of Montreal, itself, was not among them.

However, Dorval received a distinction for being Canada's biggest fan of Tims lattes. Apparently, the inhabitants of the on-island suburb can't stand their coffee without milk. It's the only place in Quebec that figured on the list.

You could be one of those ridiculously happy roller skaters in the five seconds of the breakfast sandwich wrap commercial YouTube makes you watch before you can press skip. Groundglass Casting is looking for Quebec roller skating enthusiasts to star in a commercial promoting the Tim Hortons breakfast menu.

But unlike those clips showcasing the talents of (likely) professional dancers and actors, this project will feature what the casting company describes as "real people" who can dance on four-wheel skates and perform intermediate or advanced tricks.

It's the time of year when a season's worth of littered red Tim Hortons cups — once buried under the snow — begin blowing through the streets of Montreal. But starting this Wednesday, April 6, the fast-food chain is reintroducing a 10-cent discount for customers who bring in a clean, reusable cup. All drinks, including cold beverages like Iced Capps and Cold Brew, will qualify for the rebate.

Takeaway coffee cups are not recyclable due to the plastic lining and can often take up to 30 years to decompose once thrown away. While Tim Hortons has made strides in recent years to improve its green footprint, it stopped letting guests bring in their own drinkware at the start of the pandemic in an effort to reduce employees' exposure to COVID-19.
