The top Canadian companies with the best work well-being were ranked and Petro-Canada managed to top the list. Indeed announced its winners of the Best Work Awards 2023, which highlights employers in Canada with a heavy focus on opportunity, transparency, and wellbeing for its employees.

According to Indeed's fourth annual work well-being report, which was conducted by Forrester Research, 94% of Canadians believe finding a company that cares about how you feel is most important. However, only 26% believe that they are "thriving" at work. It also found that 36% of Canadians do not believe they are being paid fairly for their work.

104 Quebec companies made Deloitte's 2023 list of the "Best Managed Companies" in Canada. The province also made a splash with this year's new entries, claiming 14 of 30 nationally.

Companies have to apply every year to claim the title. What Deloitte describes as a "multi-disciplinary judging panel" then evaluates their success in four categories: "strategy, commitment, capability, and financials." Deloitte also gives "bonus points for demonstrating leading-edge practices in the realms of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) initiatives, with particular attention on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, limiting waste, improving energy efficiency, and cultivating diversity."

Employer review site Glassdoor has compiled its list of the best places to work in Canada in 2023. The ranking includes some familiar big names, such as Hydro-Québec, Nike, Bell, Accenture, Desjardins, Microsoft and, in the number one spot, Google.

The list consists of the companies that had the highest Glassdoor ratings based on employee-submitted reviews between October 19, 2021, and October 17, 2022. The companies must have had at least 25 reviews in nine different Glassdoor workplace rating categories and their workforces must have consisted of at least 1,000 people.
